Roskilde Cathedral

In 1972, the towers’ copper cladding was replaced, but the following year there appeared cracks in the copper, and a new total replacement has since proved necessary. Major parts of the roof construction has also been replaced.
Restoration has provided in-depth feasibility studies and archival studies to uncover the errors that were committed in connection with the replacement of copper sheathing in 1972.
Subsequently, an intensive quality control of the lay method based on the classical principles of copper coverage is conducted.
