Bryggens Huse

We have designed a new block of flats at Islands Brygge in Copenhagen, well situated between the popular quay and the green meadow areas in Amager Fælled. The group of buildings comprises 133 two- to five-room flats in an open block around a green and airy garden area.
All flats are with incident light and built up on open-plan kitchen/family room and dining room which is the central feature. Balconies, facing two quarters of the globe, give every single accommodation a varied daylight. From outside the balconies stand as spatial recesses in the brick-built wall and become a very important part of the facade.
