Shopping Center - Japan

The location of Tamba shopping centre near river and green mountains provokes the desire to involve elements of nature in the design.
“Nature”, the sound and clean, becomes the characteristics of the centre.
To emphasize this, covered centre areas surround an open area in which pavilion-like houses with more recreational functions are placed in landscaped designed water - and garden areas. There is a visual contact to the river and the green mountains - nature is brought into the centre.
Circulating in the city-like centre, having a variety of shops in different sizes, the visitor will find the choice of materials, the fitting-out of public areas to be inspired of Danish/Japanese architecture.
